Product Questions?
Motor Oil
Why is motor oil so important?
Oil is the blood of your motor! The main purpose of motor oil is to lubricate all the moving parts of your engine. And with technology improving each day, engines are being tuned to finer and tighter measurements and specifications making motor oil even more important! In addition to lubrication, motor oil is used to help seal areas such as the thin surfaces of valves and pistons to insure proper compression and reduce the loss of horsepower due to worn components. Not only does it lubricate & seal, but our G-Oil Bio-Based Full Synthetic Green Motor Oil contains the needed chemicals and additives to keep your engine in great condition by neutralizing harmful substances that can cause corrosion and rust. Another important purpose of motor oil as it travels through your engine is to absorb heat from areas that reach high temperatures and transfer it to another region of the engine to be dissipated.
Why is it important to change your oil?
Manufacturers of vehicles and all motor oils have a recommended "oil change interval." This stands for the mileage amount that can be driven on one oil change before the oil can no longer effectively protect the engine. It is best to change your oil based on the manufacturer's recommendation, and more frequently when driving in tough conditions such as stop-go traffic daily.
My oil is dark colored, what does that mean?
Oil can become dirty and become darker in color than the original gold coloring. First of all, this does not mean that you have to change your oil, but in no means should you go past your recommended mileage per oil change. G-Oil Bio-Based Full Synthetic Green Motor Oil has properties to protect your engine, but do diminish after a certain time depending on how the vehicle is driven. We advise 5,000/7,500/10,000 miles between oil changes depending on which G-Oil product you choose to ensure complete coverage.
My car's manufacturer asks for 5w-20 to be used for my engine oil. Would it be okay to use 5w-30 instead?
We ask customers to use only what the manufacturer says should be used with their motor.
What are the differences between conventional, semi-synthetic, blended, full synthetic motor oils?
A motor oil aisle can be overwhelming without the knowledge to go along. We are here to help! Let us start with the two types, Conventional and Synthetic.
Conventional oil is the crude oil extracted from the earth. It is then purified through several refining processes.
Synthetic oil is as well created from crude oil, but it then goes through a synthesis process to refine the oil to become a synthetic. Synthetic oils use man made additives to make the oil last longer at extremely high or low temperatures. These additional additives can also assist for example in lubrication or acid neutralization.
Synthetics can however can be broken down even further into several categories…
Semi-synthetics, blends, or part synthetics are all the same as they are mixture of conventional oil and synthetics. The main difference, however the difference is the ratio of conventional to synthetic oil which is typically 50/50.
Full synthetics include nothing except the oil that goes through the synthesis process and the additional additives. No conventional oil is present.
Why should I purchase full synthetics?
In all likelihood, you bought your car, truck, or SUV for the main purpose of using it for several years to get your money's worth out of it, right? A full synthetic oil is proven to reduce engine wear allowing your car to run longer and stronger than it would if you used a conventional oil. Conventional oil lasts about 3000 miles where as our G-Oil full synthetic lasts up to 7,500 miles!
When you need to top off, is it ok to add G-Oil Bio-based full synthetic motor oil to an engine that has either petroleum or synthetic oil already in the crankcase?
Yes, G-Oil Bio-based full synthetic motor oil is completely compatible with any and all petroleum or synthetic oils currently on the market.
Is G-Oil Bio-based full synthetic motor oil acceptable in high mileage engines?
It is indeed! The superior performance of G-Oil Bio-based full synthetic motor oil will provide extra lubrication and reduce the sludge associated with higher mileage engines.
Do I need to use a special filter on my car when I switch to G-Oil Bio-based full synthetic motor oil?
No need for any special filter. Always follow your manufacturer's recommendations for replacement filter.
Outdoor Engine Oil
Is G-Oil 2 Cycle oil safe for use in direct injection engines?
G-Oil 2 Cycle Bio-based synthetic oil is safe for use in all engines either direct injection or premix that require an oil that meets or exceeds the API-TC and JASC-FC/ISO L-EGD requirements. Always mix the oil to the ratio recommended by the engine manufacturer.
Is it safe to use G-Oil 4 cycle bio-synthetic green oil in my tractor or is it only for lawnmowers?
G-Oil 4 cycle bio-synthetic green oil is completely safe for use in any engine that requires an SAE30 or 10W-30 outdoor power equipment oil. G-Oil OPE oil meets and exceeds the API-SM standard, which is the warranty requirement for most tractor engines.
Appearance & Cleaning Products
Do I need to rinse the grill after using G-Clean Grill & Surface Cleaner?
We do advise rinsing after cleaning – not because of any harmful residue, but rather to remove any small particles of grease or grime that the product has loosened. G-Clean Grill & Surface cleaner contains olive oil and corn oil which will help provide for less sticking the next time you use your grill.
Is G-Clean Grill & Surface Cleaner safe to use on baked ceramic cooking grids?
Yes, G-Clean Grill & Surface Cleaner is safe for use on ALL grill surfaces.
Can I use G-Clean Grill & Surface Cleaner on the outside of my grill?
Yes you certainly can. For best results, rinse after cleaning and dry with a clean soft cloth. By the way, it is a fabulous stainless steel surface cleaner as well.
When using the G-Clean Mold & Mildew Stain Remover, do I need to rinse the surface after cleaning?
Yes, to ensure a smooth clean surface that mold will have a hard time returning to, thoroughly rinse the surface after cleaning.
I want to clean the siding on my house, but it also has mildew. Do I need to use both the G-Clean Mold & Mildew Stain Remover AND the G-Clean Siding & All Purpose Cleaner?
No, it is not necessary to do so. G-Clean Mold & Mildew Stain Remover is also a hard working general purpose cleaner. It has additional ingredients to tackle the mold and mildew, but can be used for all cleaning. **Note: Do not use on automobiles as the clear coat used on most vehicles could possibly be affected.
I don't have a G-Injector – is there any other way to use the G-Clean dissolvable pouch cleaning products?
Yes, simply drop a pouch in a gallon of water and agitate until completely dissolved. You now have a gallon of concentrated cleaner that can be used with a broom, mop or intake hose from a pressure washer.
I don't notice a lot of suds when using the G-Clean Car Wash – is it still cleaning?
Yes it is. Suds are simply air trapped in the soap sheen – they do not do any actual cleaning. G-Clean's formula breaks down the hydrocarbons (the basis of the dirt and grime on your car) into tiny particles and emulsifies them for easy removal when rinsing. This emulsification prevents particles from sticking resulting in a cleaner, smoother surface.
Is it safe to use G-Clean Rain Repellent on my glass shower doors?
Not only is it safe, it is a great idea. The natural ingredients in G-Clean Rain Repellent will provide a super slick surface that will repel water spots and soap scum. While you are at it, try the G-Clean Anti-Fog on your bathroom mirror, it works great there.
Is it safe to use G-Clean Odor Eliminator on furniture?
Yes it is. The natural ingredients in this product will not harm or stain fabrics. If you have white or very light colored fabric on your furniture, you should test the product on an inconspicuous location to be sure there is no mild discoloration.
Can I use G-Seal Surface Protector if I don't have the G-Seal Nozzle?
Yes. You can mix the product in a bucket and apply in a portable sprayer, or simply use a brush or roller to coat the surface. Be sure to use a thick nap roller.
What dilution should the G-Seal be mixed if applying without the G-Seal Nozzle?
For wood surfaces, mix 1 part product to 5 parts water (5:1); for brick mix 7:1; for concrete mix 8:1 and for vinyl mix 10:1.
I lost the syringe that came with the G-Fuel Stabilizer bottle, is it ok to just squirt some of the product in my fuel?
It is completely safe to do so. G-Fuel Stabilizer can be used in excess of the recommended amount with no negative effects.
Can I "fix" bad fuel by adding G-Fuel Stabilizer?
While GET products can truly do amazing things, unfortunately G-Fuel Stabilizer cannot restore volatility to stale gasoline. The only solution for bad gas is to replace it with fresh fuel.
Is it okay to use G-Fuel Stabilizer in mixed fuel (oil & gas)?
Absolutely. G-Fuel will stabilize and prevent degradation and loss of volatility of fuel for up to one year.
More Technical Questions?
Can I use G-Fuel Ultimate Biodegradable Fuel Stabilizer in the gasoline mixed with oil that I use in my string trimmer?
G-Fuel Ultimate Biodegradable Fuel Stabilizer is completely safe for use in any gasoline-oil ratio mixture. It can also be safely added to diesel fuel and ethanol blended gasoline up to E-85. G-Fuel will also stabilize all grades of kerosene, including 1-K. Remember, for complete safety, only use 1-K in kerosene heaters.
Will G-Glass Rain Repellent work on Lexan (Polycarbonate) or Plexiglass (Acrylic)?
Yes it will! While G-Clean Rain Repellent was formulated specifically for glass, it has been tested on polycarbonate and acrylic and it works well.
What if I applied Rain Repellent and the windshield appeared streaky or hazy?
Rain Repellent will only work on a clean dry window. Any dirt or moisture left on the glass prior to the application will not allow the product to dry and adhere to glass. We also recommend the application be performed at temperatures between 40 and 90 degrees Fahrenheit. If, after following these directions, streaks still appear we recommend you wait 48 hours, apply glass cleaner and simply wipe it. In this case the product may have required more time to dry and cure on the windshield.
If G-Oil is biodegradeable, will it biodegrade while it is in my car?
GET's proprietary process produces saturated chains of carbon mainly in the 16 to 20 carbon lengths that mimic crude oil distillates in structure. Biodegradability is defined by an ASTM specification that puts the material for 28 days in contact with environmentally present bacteria and measures the proportion that is broken down back into elemental form. The conditions of the engine and the environment are vastly different. So, no, it doesn't biodegrade in the engine. We have engine tests now that show that G-Oil meets or exceeds the performance of ASTM reference oils in these conditions and have an ongoing program to continue to obtain additional test data.
How do I know the amount of 2 cycle to mix with my Gas?
This depends on the requirements of the engine manufacturer. Once you know the ratio, it's a mathematical calculation. For example, for a 50:1 ratio, for 1 Gallon of Gas. There is 128 ounces in a gallon divided by 50, comes to 2.56 ounces, rounded to the nearest tenth of an ounce is 2.6.
